For The Troops

The author of this is unknown and I'm not sure when it was originally posted, although the tone in some of the items seem to point toward the VietNam war years.  It's quite long but I wanted to get this online FOR THE TROOPS of today, who defend our way of life, put themselves unflinchingly into harms way.  For us.  We owe them our deepest gratitude.

Very recently, right here in Sparks, NV., former Marine Master Sergeant, in the Nevada National Guard and a beloved teacher at Sparks Middle School shielded children when a young student with a gun was firing.  He tried to talk the youngster down.  The youngster simply pointed the gun at that hero and fired, mortally wounding him.
